Day 16 prompt “Poison Plant”

I thought for today I would show a little of process. The first image is my finished drawing, the second is my pencil sketch, and the third is my reference photo.

This is a Horse Nettle. I always laugh when I see one of these. My first “shonuf” Barrel Horse had never had much pasture and would eat anything that was green. Including these horse nettles. The fruit on them that looks like a green cherry tomato can make you sick if you ate it and 11 year old me freaked out when he was dragging me around the yard eating them. Thank goodness old iron belly never got sick.
