Day 15 prompt “Bad Luck”

Even if you’re not superstitious as a matter of practice everyone in the south is on New Years Day. We all eat our black-eyed peas for luck and greens for wealth. But I had never heard to not wash clothes on New Years. Apparently, if you wash on New Years Day you’ll be washing away a member of your family.
