Spring Showers and Wildflowers
April and May have flown by with the pace of a spring thunderstorm. School is finished for the year. I now officially have a 6th grader who starts middle school next year complete with locker and changing classes. I’m extremely jealous as I did not get to change classes or have a locker until 7th grade. I think changing schools has suited her and she has made new friends and seems to have found her place as a Kemper Academy Ram. I didn’t know how all this would shake out a year ago when I changed jobs, but I honestly think it was for the better for her and me.
Speaking of that, I have been gone from my previous place of employment for a year officially as of May 13th. Still happy, still thriving. Think I’ll hang around while longer.
With school finishing this has been the second week since last fall that we haven’t had to get up early, worry with homework, projects, or tests and I don’t know who’s more excited me or her. You would have thought I would be more productive with all this extra time and maybe I have. Who knows. I’ve been reading a good bit this week and writing on a short story that might or might now see the light of day. Also a little sewing and Sunday rode out to some public land and took some pics. But it’s good to be inspired enough to write again and want to build a new world with original characters as well as want to be creative in general.
I was recently featured in our local newspaper, The Macon Beacon with a very kind and gracious article about being included in the Greenville Arts Council’s juried art show. Thank you to Scott at The Beacon for his continued support.
I’ve also been working on a new YouTube video since the end of last month and it just posted on YouTube, you can watch it HERE. Leave me a comment or share it with a friend if you don’t mind. I’d love to hear what you think or even just a comment with what your favorite wildflower is. Engagement is key with YouTube and I was shooting for 20 subscribers by July, but I’m probably gonna miss that mark. I’m halfway there so it would be nice to meet that goal, arbitrary as it is.
Good things are coming photography-wise as well. I have something really exciting to share with you soon and yes I’m going to end this blog on a cliffhanger like that.
Hope you’re all well my lovelies. Until later.
